Disque hyperbolique Escher. Type de base IH28
April 19, 2025. I sent a registered letter with a 20x20 photo of "Escher Ad Infinitum" to the Director General of the Hague Museums, as well as two emails to the curator
of the Escher Museum, with an enlargement allowing the viewer to see the edge of the disc enlarged to 2.50 meters. Plus explanations to give them an idea of its uniqueness. I also informed them of the times and dates I would be at the museum. I only received an
email the day before my visit from a sub-manager telling me that they were not interested. This leads me to doubt the expertise of these gentlemen and ladies in the field of Escher. Because what, I'm offering them a free drawing that
neither anyone, nor specialized software nor AI, to my knowledge, has ever been able to design:
- word intersecting in 4 and 5 directions without leaving any spaces;
- pentagonal hyperbolic tessellation {5,4} of colored figures in a Poincaré disk;
- disk that can be enlarged to 2.50 m while still being vector-based.
So, of course, disappointed by the petty civil servants of Escher's In Het Paleis who can't see beyond the end of their noses.
"I walk alone in this magnificent garden, which is, however, in no way my private property and whose door remains open to everyone."
Maurits Cornelis ESCHER
